Happy holiday schedule

With Christmas falling on Sunday, the New York Stock Exchange will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005. HybridTalk will take the day off, too, enjoy a refill of eggnog (or maybe two), and wish all the best to you and yours.
With the holidays in mind, below is a link to something we're asked about a lot this time of year: the NYSE holiday calendar. It answers these burning questions:
- Are we open regular hours today? (Yes.)
- Are we open regular hours on Friday, Dec. 30? (Yes again.)
- What about New Year's Day? (We're closed the next day, Monday, Jan. 2, 2006.)
- Why does the NYSE call it Washington's Birthday instead of Presidents Day? (OK, maybe not a burning question, but we answer it nonetheless.) Turns out Washington's Birthday is the law of the land, and Presidents Day never quite made it.
