The folks cheering at today's Opening Bell were from Banco Macro Bansud, the 91st Latin American company to list on the NYSE, and the 11th from Argentina.

The four Latin American IPOs listing on the NYSE to date in 2006 have raised $2.5 billion; Banco Macro Bansud, $217 million of that total. That's reason to cheer!

Another neat globalization fact: In 2006 year to date, the average daily trading volume by Latin American companies on the NYSE is 40.5 million shares, with a total average daily dollar value of trading of $1.4 billion.
