Carter proposes ideas to strengthen U.S. capital-market competitiveness

In testimony today, NYSE Group Chairman Marsh Carter:

· Presents evidence of U.S. capital markets' loss of global competitiveness;
· Discusses expanations of why it is occurring;
· Offers ideas to improve our competitive position; and
· Concludes with the implications of losing our leadership for American investors, the capital markets and the broader economy.

Comments

Having stocks trade in nickel increments is one way to increase capitol formation, public confidence, and add profitability. It will also help create good paying jobs across the whole industry. When the stocks eventually trade in nickels watch how much better the business will be. Thanks.
