HybridTalkin' it up
- By: Ray Pellecchia
- File Under: NYSE
Just when I'm getting back from vacation and figuring everyone has completely forgotten about HybridTalk in the interim, along comes ol' Colin Brayton of The New Market Machines with this post:
Hybrid Talk pregnant!
With some pretty good inside dope and conversation, that is, despite the occasional foray into tabloid territory.
As NYSE/NYX’s Hybrid Talk blog builds up its How Hybrid Works category archives—which along with News makes up a growing majority of the entries—well, even I have to admit the guy seems to be doing a pretty good job of accumulating raw material for a valuable FAQ about the technical guts.
And you know me: I’m Mikey. I hate everything.
I gotta appreciate that, tabloid reference and all. Colin goes on to digress eloquently as usual, but his main point seems to be that there's lots yet to learn about the NYSE Hybrid Market and markets in general, and that blogging is one way to get at it. No argument on either point.
And continuing further down that trail, I know it sounds like a cliche, but in this case it happens to be true: this space is only as good as your input (the same can be said of the Hybrid Market itself!). The more you lob in your questions and comments, the better informed we all will be.
Tomorrow, I'll be here 18 years, and I don't think my learning curve has ever been as steep as it is now. Came here knowing nothing, and now I know I know nothing (now don't get started on that, Colin!). Fortunately, I have some smart Hybrid-building colleagues as my subject-matter experts, and I get to ghost write for them. There's plenty more Hybrid 101 to come.
Anyway, the blog is an online conversation, and the more conversationalists the better. So have at it. I see that there's a bit of mail from the last week, and I'm digging in. Keep those cards and letters coming.
