NYSE opens the Book, in real time
- By: Ray Pellecchia
- File Under: NYSE
The Big Board today launched NYSE OpenBook Real-Time®, an information tool for investors and market professionals designed to offer customers immediate access to market information, increase the transparency of the NYSE market, and support the implementation of the Hybrid Market.
The news release doesn't actually say that we're lifting the veil, but that's my humble take on it.

HFT -- C'mon, tell us how you really feel!
Just to remind, we've been improving the update frequency of NYSE OpenBook ever since it was introduced in January 2002: every 10 seconds, then 5, now every second.
We'll continue to keep an eye toward making sure this and other products are responsive to our customer base, many of whom prefer aggregating because it keeps costs low and they believe it's more significant information than a flickering stream of smaller updates. Thanks for writing.
