Hybrid 101: More on LRPs

By: Ray Pellecchia
File Under: NYSE

Chapter 30 in our ongoing Hybrid Training Program series offers more information about Liquidity Replenishment Points.

No, we don't have the exact levels set quite yet -- stay tuned for that. But this one is for you want to know, for example:
• What happens when the quote is set outside the LRP;
• What happens to Immediate or Cancel orders and Intermarket Sweep Orders when an LRP is reached;
• All about LRPs and intermarket routing;
• How LRPs impact Specialist API messages;
• Whether LRPs will be used for ETFs.

And more.

On a separate but related note, a message about LRPs from our Market Data folks: LRP values will be part of the NYSE Alerts datafeed. Vendors who wish to get access should go to http://www.nysedata.com/alerts. Users of market-data devices should ask their vendor how they plan to display the LRP values.

And on a separate and totally unrelated note about the number 30, if you need a laugh today (and who doesn't?), check out 30-Second Bunnies Theater, which posts short films of animated bunnies parodying memorable movie scenes. Everything from Casablanca to Pulp Fiction, It's a Wonderful Life to Star Wars, Rocky to Reservoir Dogs (the latter in two versions, bleeped and unbleeped). t'll only cost you about 30 seconds; more if you can't stop watching after just one.
