Q&A: Timing of LRPs

By: Ray Pellecchia
File Under: NYSE, NYSE

A student writes:

I had read this on the site:

Throughout the trading day, LRPs are recalculated:
“ At regularly scheduled intervals, initially every 30 seconds"

Just curious are these regularly scheduled intervals always going to be 30 seconds or if it does change what is it more likely to be?
-- Ryan

Ryan -- We plan to stay with 30 seconds for the foreseeable future. Although we reserve the right to make a change, I can't speculate on the likelihood of that, or on what that change might be. Again, it's still early days here.

Thanks for writing, Ryan. What and where are you studying?

Q&A Day update: OK, this is the eighth and final Q&A for now. I'm all talked out. Great chatting with everyone, though. And anything that came in late yesterday or early today is going to have to wait a bit, while I tend to that big distraction known as my day job.
