No new issues the day after Christmas

By: Ray Pellecchia
File Under: NYSE

"Say, Elvis, where can I get a shirt with a collar like that?"

Just heard from a Hybrid-Building Colleague that you'll find no additional issues stuffed in your Hybrid Market Phase III stocking for Tuesday, Dec. 26. As my friends in Market Operations say, they try to have "no changes in the environment" on the day immediately following a holiday.

So if you're planning to be nursing a post-holiday eggnog hangover, there will be nothing new to deal with next Tuesday. Other than the other million crazy new things you deal with every day. But nothing new from us on the Hybrid front that day.

The rollout is likely to resume the following day, Dec. 27. That will be announced tomorrow.

On today's rock-trivia front, from the New York Times' "On This Day", today is the day the King met the President:

1970 -- Elvis Presley met with President Richard M. Nixon in the Oval Office to discuss fighting drugs.

No, it doesn't get any more bizarre than that.

Now this is what I call a "slow" news day -- when even the NYSE would mention Elvis....
