From Marisa Ricciardi: On July 20, 1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the moon. Forty years later, this amazing feat continues to live on in the minds of people all over the world. On Monday, July 13 (2009), Louis Vuitton’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Lalonde, along with Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell, commander of the historic Apollo 13 mission, visited NYSE to ring the Closing Bell. This July marks the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing.

Louis Vuitton (NYSE Euronext: MC) is currently featuring the astronauts in a new advertising campaign aimed to recognize their personal journey and voyage for all mankind. The campaign also features astronaut Sally Ride and includes an interactive website to view personal interviews and hear their first-hand experiences of traveling into space. To visit the site, click here.

This special occasion was marked with honor, pride and recognition. NYSE employees and traders welcomed the astronauts with applause as they toured the Trading Floor. We honor their achievements and commemorate their service to our country.

Comments

I hope Buzz isn't losing his mind. The whole space program is a boondoggle and has to be scrapped. It is 100% useless and a waste of taxpayers' money.
